At Chestnut Drive, we recognize that young Christians are the church of today and the future of the church. Without proper teaching and rearing of our children, we severely limit what we can do as a church today and in the years to come. Today our children face so many temptations from TV, music, movies, and schools. We are fighting to equip our children with the biblical knowledge they need to go into the world “that they may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:17). We teach and encourage our youth to not only “flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace” as Paul says in 2 Timothy 2:22. We strive to lead our youth into studying the word of God for themselves because we recognize that the way to keep a young man’s way pure is to guard it according to God’s word (Psalm 119:9).
We know the importance of providing youth with a safe place to get together and spend time with other Christians. With all the negative outward influences they face, our biggest job is to provide them with support, love, and guidance to let them know they are not alone in their fight against conforming to this world. God has called us out of the world to be an example to the world. We pray that God bless the work we do with our youth, that the future of the church of Christ will thrive!
